ICAP has been alerted that rogue list brokers are falsely claiming to sell ICAP conference attendee lists. These scammers are phishing for your information and financial details. ICAP values your privacy and never sells or shares your data. These entities have no connection to ICAP.
Scammers often gather email addresses using illegal methods like web crawlers. While this is against the law in most countries, it remains a widespread issue. The FTC has even issued guidance on this type of scam.
ICAP is taking action but stopping these scams entirely is challenging. We urge you not to click links or reply to such emails. Instead, report them as spam, delete them, and, if you wish, notify the FTC. Remember, scammers might misuse ICAP’s name and logo to appear legitimate.
