Andrea Kittrell
MD, FACS
After 25 yrs of service to local families, Dr. Kittrell closed her practice to new patients to pursue other professional endeavors, including continued leadership and education in the field of tethered oral tissues. It has truly been an honor for us here at Ties that Bind to assist so many infants in achieving improved feeding and development over the years.
She'd like to extend special thanks to the many colleagues with whom she's collaborated to optimize the results for our precious patients and their families. Best clinical practice in this field requires an individualized care plan and input from a variety of specialists, including midwives and OB/GYN physicians, primary care physicians and pediatricians, feeding specialists such as IBCLC lactation consultants and speech language pathologists, and manual therapists such as PTs, chiropractors, and CSTs. She'd also like to express appreciation to the surgeons and dental specialists who shared their knowledge and skills as they guided Dr. Kittrell in her technical training. She could not have accomplished so much without such wonderful support.
Dr. Kittrell currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the ICAP International Consortium of Oral Ankylofrenula Professionals ICAP. She plans to continue her work with the organization in developing much-needed reliable patient and parent educational materials, collaborative practice guidelines for medical professionals, and course instruction and technical training for other ENTs interested in providing the highest quality care to patients struggling with tethered oral tissues such as tongue- and lip-tie. There are many exciting developments in this rapidly-evolving field, and Dr. Kittrell is thrilled to be on the forefront with many capable associates at ICAP International Consortium of Oral Ankylofrenula Professionals ICAP!
